SOBEY
SCHOOL OF BUSINESS
In
August 1992, the University paid tribute to one of
Canada's premier business leaders by naming its Faculty
of Commerce in honour of the late Frank H. Sobey,
founder of Empire Company Limited, Stellarton, Nova
Scotia.
The
Faculty offers programs of study leading to the degrees
of Bachelor of Commerce, Bachelor of Commerce (Honors)
in Economics, Master of Business Administration (including
Executive Master of Business Administration) and Ph.D.
Selected
undergraduate and graduate programs have a cooperative
education option. The EMBA and the Certificate Program
in Marketing and International Business, aimed at
practitioners who want to update their skills, are
offered at Sobey's downtown campus at the World Trade
and Convention Centre.
The
Frank H. Sobey Faculty of Commerce is the largest
business school in Atlantic Canada, with over 60 full-time
faculty. In
addition to its B.Comm and MBA programs, Sobey also
offers an Executive MBA (EMBA) program. This is Atlantic
Canada's only EMBA program. A Ph.D program in Management
began in the summer of 2000.
